Meet Our Vicar
The Rev'd Sandra Walters Malone

Sandra Walters Malone is the vicar of St. Paul’s Church, BVI. In 2008, she was one of the first three women to be ordained deacons in the Episcopal Diocese of the Virgin Islands and, in 2010, the first woman ordained a priest in this diocese. On accepting the call as vicar of St. Paul’s, Sea Cows Bay, in 2016, she became the first woman to be installed as priest in charge of a congregation in the diocese. She has served the church as a lay and ordained person at deanery, diocesan, and “national” levels.
Prior to her transition to ordained ministry, she served as Executive Director of the BVI’s National Drug Advisory Council, taught at the primary, secondary, and tertiary levels, and worked as a print and broadcast journalist in Barbados and as a broadcast journalist in the BVI. She trained in Radio News and Current Affairs at the Radio Nederland Training Centre in Hilversum, Holland, and in Television at the Mona Campus of the University of the West Indies.
The Rev'd Sandra Walters Malone holds a Certificate in Anglican Studies from Church Divinity School of the Pacific (CDSP), an MA in Children, Youth and Family Ministry from Wesley Seminary, Indiana Wesleyan University, and is currently ABD in the Doctor of Ministry programme with a focus on spiritual formation.
She is married to Meade Malone and has two adult children, Marisa and Timothy.
